The 8th Annual CICAMH conference will focus on engaging families and caregivers of youth who struggle with mental health concerns in order to foster youth resilience and nurture mental well-being. We will also address how to sustain clinician resilience to continue to support the specific needs of these youth and their families.
In particular, we will address building and maintaining systems to support family and clinician resilience in the context of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also address how to actively engage families while treating youth using specific modalities of treatment, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), substance use treatment including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), exposure therapy for anxiety, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), as well as engagement of families of LGBTQIA+ youth dealing with co-occurring mental health disorders.
The purpose of the CICAMH conference is to increase awareness and in depth understanding of these critical issues and offer attendees guidance and resources to be able to assist youth, their family systems, as well as their communities in supporting each other to promote healing, recovery and ongoing resilience.
